Welcome to the Winfield Junior Woman’s Club

2013 CANDIDATES’ NIGHT

Monday, March 11th 6:30PM – Central DuPage Hospital Auditorium

The Winfield Junior Woman’s Club hosted Candidates’ Night on Monday, March 11th in the Central DuPage Hospital auditorium at 25 North Winfield Road in Winfield.  This community event was moderated by the  League of Women Voters of Wheaton (click here to go to their website).  The event was recorded and will be shown on Winfield’s Government Channel 10 at the following times:

  • Thursday, March 14, 2013 and March 29, 2013 @ about 5:30 PM
  • Thursday, March 21, 2013 and April 4, 2013 @ about 10:00 AM

It has come to our attention that many village residents do not have Comcast Channel 10 as they subscribe to an alternative subscriber such as DISH network, AT&T, etc. Therefore, we have received permission from the candidates and the League of Women Voters to post the video to the Candidates’ Night Forum on our website. Please feel free to share our webpage www.winfieldjuniors.org for viewing of the the video. We, along with the League of Women Voters maintain the copyright of this video. The recording many not be shared except for in it’s entirety.

All candidates running for the Winfield Village Board were invited to the event. Some candidates declined the invitation to participate. The following letter was released by the League of Women Voters to the Winfield Post in response. Wheaton_League_of_Women_Voters_Response_to_the_Winfield_Post (click here to view)

Welcome to the Winfield Junior Woman’s Club

For over 40 years we have been the Winfield Junior Woman’s Club —we care about our community and its future.  We care about education, the safety of our children, our town, the parks and the people.

Throughout the years, the Club has supported the Winfield community and beyond with programs and monetary donations. The Winfield Junior Woman’s Club is a charitable organization with a Section 501(c)3 designation. Over the past 10 years alone, the Club has donated over $110,000 to organizations ranging from the American Cancer Society to the YWCA. In the local community, the Club has made donations to the Winfield Garden Club, Winfield Historical Society, Winfield Chamber of Commerce, Winfield In Action, Winfield Public Library, Winfield School District 34, Relay for Life, People’s Resource Center, Winfield Criterium (kids bike parade), Winfield Prince and Princess Parade, College Scholarship to Winfield Area Student, and Central DuPage Hospital with a toy collection for its Pediatric Oncology/Hematology Department. Winfield residents have benefited from Snacks with Santa, Children’s Halloween Party/Scarecrow Fest, Winfield Road cleanup/Adopt-A-Highway, fundraisers, and the Club’s participation at the Good Old Days.
