Committees

Following is a list and description of our committees.  Members are encouraged to participate in the activities and projects of all the committees.

Arts & Education
Prepares the President’s scrapbook at the end of her Club year, informs the club about local artist and cultural events, Awards scholarships, supports National Education week and National Library Week.  Selects recipients for Kind News and selects a book in honor of the past president for the library, and sponsors the annual Halloween party.

Conservation & Community Affairs
Coordinates all projects in support of Native American, Veteran and International Organizations.  Adopt -a-Highway projects, promotes recycling programs, carpooling, conservation education, public safety awareness (Fire Prevention Week, helmet safety, road safety).

Health & Home Life
Promotes healthy living and eating by educating Junior’s about good nutrition and exercise, provides information on issues regarding women’s health issues.  Supports Adopt-a-Senior and Adopt-a-Family programs.  Responsible for Snacks with Santa, coordinates Meals on Wheels, Sunshine Meals for members and volunteers to help Lombard Juniors in the summer with TLC camp. Donations for DCFS bags for children being removed from their homes in immediate situations.

Hostess/Programs
Coordinates monthly meeting location and membership participation in decorating and supplying food and refreshments for meetings and coordinates interest programs for member enjoyment.

Membership
Responsible for activities promoting interaction between new and established members including: new member orientations, greeters at general meetings, sending postcards to new members, ladies night out and club social outings.  This committee is designed to establish camaraderie and a sense of belonging within the membership.

Philanthropy
Investigates organizations for our club to support.  Educates club members on philanthropic procedures and holds meetings for philanthropic donations twice a year.

Public Relations
Responsible for publicizing our club in local newspapers and media, and coordinating press releases with club members.

Publications
Responsible for collecting and compiling a monthly newsletter, also responsible for all aspects of the yearbook publication.

Reporting
Responsible for keeping track of outstanding reports from members and projects and also coordination of year end reporting at the local and state levels.

Ways & Means
Coordinates all fundraising projects such as: Good Old Days.
