We are pleased to release the application for our 2012 Annual College Scholarship. The 2012 Junior Jog will be held at Lion’s Park in downtown Winfield on Saturday April 14, 2012
Registration opens at 7:00 a.

Start time:      1 mile: 8:00    5K: 8:30     Kids Run: 9:30

Proceeds from the event will support the St. Vincent DePaul Food Pantry and DuPage PADS.

  • The St. Vincent DePaul Society Food Pantry is a part of the Community Hunger Network which is housed at St. John the Baptist Church in Winfield. Its mission is to provide quality food and nutrition to those in need, to provide a forum for addressing hunger needs in our community and to educate and advocate for the elimination of hunger.  It serves families in West Chicago, Wheaton and Winfield.
  • For 25 years Dupage PADS has provided hope for people who are homeless in Dupage County by offering an array of services that builds toward self-sufficiency and helps to stop the cycle of homelessness.

Suggested small toys include: card game decks; hand held games; jewelry or bead kits; Matchbox cars; ITunes or Target gift cards. Activities include a photo with Santa courtesy of the Winfield Lion’s Club and candy canes courtesy of the Winfield Chamber of Commerce; Face Painting; Cookies/Snacks; Crafts for Kids; Bake Sale; live entertainment; and a Fabulous Basket Raffle with over 25 baskets! Raffle baskets tickets are $2/ticket or $10/6 tickets. Snacks with Santa will be followed by the Village Tree Lighting at 4:30PM outside Village Hall, including hot chocolate served courtesy of John’s Restaurant & Tavern. Come out and enjoy these long-standing Winfield traditions!

Yummy snacks – Popsicles, Popcorn, and Pickles available.

Saturday, September 10 from 4:00PM- 6:00PM  Come by the DUNK TANK at St. John’s Parking Lot on Church Street for a visit with the Winfield Juniors Woman’s Club and take a turn to “DUNK” a local “Who’s who” from Winfield. Check out the Facebook Link to Winfield Juniors Dunk Tank  for updates on who the selected targets will be.

The Winfield Junior Woman’s Club is sponsoring the Prince & Princess of Winfield’s Good Old Days contest. The winners will be chosen by the residents at the DuPage County Convalescent Center.

Each winner will receive a $50 savings bond as Prince and Princess.  Remaining participants will be a part of the Royal Court and will ride with the Prince and Princess in the Parade.

Come out to the Parade on Sunday, September 11 from 1:00PM-4:ooPM.
